Job description

Role Purpose

The Executive, Partnership & Engagement is responsible for building and strengthening relationships with corporate partners, donors and community stakeholders to support Children’s Aid Limited’s fundraising and partnership development efforts.

The role develops new partnership and engagement opportunities, stewards existing relationships, and works with partners to generate sustainable support for CAL’s programmes and services through fundraising, donations, programme support and other forms of collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Partnership & Engagement

  • Identify and develop new partnership opportunities with corporates, foundations, donors and community stakeholders.

  • Conduct outreach and build relationships with prospective partners.

  • Develop meaningful engagement opportunities that align partner interests with CAL’s programmes and needs.

  • Prepare proposals, presentations and materials to support partnership discussions.

  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective partners and opportunities.

2. Fundraising & Donor Stewardship

  • Support the planning and execution of fundraising initiatives, campaigns and appeals.

  • Develop funding proposals and donation asks based on CAL’s organisational and programme needs.

  • Manage and strengthen relationships with existing partners and donors through regular engagement and stewardship.

  • Support donor acquisition, renewal and re-engagement efforts.

  • Work towards agreed individual and team fundraising targets.

3. Partnership & Fundraising Coordination

  • Coordinate partner engagements, meetings, site visits, fundraising activities and other collaborative initiatives.

  • Manage and support third-party fundraising initiatives by corporates, community groups and individuals, including providing guidance on CAL’s requirements and approved materials.

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure partnership and fundraising activities are appropriately planned and delivered.

  • Ensure partner and fundraiser commitments, agreed deliverables and follow-up actions are completed in a timely manner.

4. Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date partner and donor records in CAL’s CRM.

  • Track partnership and fundraising opportunities, proposals, donations, pledges and follow-up actions.

  • Prepare regular pipeline, fundraising and partnership updates and reports.

  • Ensure donation documentation, acknowledgements and relevant internal records are completed accurately and promptly.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, Social Sciences or a related field.

  • Approximately 3-4 years of relevant experience in partnerships, fundraising, business development, account management or stakeholder engagement.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills, with confidence in reaching out to new stakeholders.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proposal and presentation development.

  • Good organisational skills with strong attention to follow-up and detail.

  • Comfortable working towards fundraising targets and managing a pipeline of opportunities.

  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

  • Experience in the social service or non-profit sector would be an advantage.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, relationship-driven and comfortable with fundraising, with the ability to turn conversations and engagement opportunities into meaningful, long-term support for CAL.

The successful candidate should be comfortable both opening doors and building relationships — from approaching a new corporate prospect and preparing a funding proposal, to following up on an opportunity and stewarding an existing donor.
