Job summary

CANETTE SG PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced Director (General Manager) to lead the launch and ongoing operation of its restaurant and fine-wine business in Singapore. The role combines day-to-day management, commercial performance, wine programme and corporate oversight.

The successful candidate will work with the existing Director and may assume director responsibilities subject to corporate approvals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary or professional qualification in hospitality management, business administration, wine and spirits, sommellerie or a related discipline.
• At least six years of relevant experience in hospitality, restaurant operations, fine wine or a related business.
• At least four years of management experience involving responsibility for restaurant operations, employees, commercial performance or a substantial wine programme.
• Demonstrated ability to manage front-of-house operations and deliver high service standards.
• Strong professional knowledge of wine, including purchasing, cellar management, inventory control, pricing and wine-list development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the establishment, opening and ongoing operation of the restaurant and fine-wine business.
• Develop and implement the company’s operating strategy, annual business plan and commercial objectives.
• Exercise overall responsibility for restaurant operations, front-of-house service, reservations, guest experience and service standards.
• Coordinate effectively with the kitchen and other operational functions to ensure consistent service delivery.
• Recruit, supervise, schedule and manage the restaurant’s front-of-house and beverage teams.
• Develop and deliver staff training in service standards, wine knowledge, product presentation, responsible alcohol service and customer engagement.
