The Execution (Asia) - Night Desk Officer is member of the Execution (Asia) - Night Desk team and shall endeavour to fulfil the ambitions defined and outlined for the team by Head Execution (Asia) - Night Desk. He/she shall ensure active risk management and meet all regulatory and internal compliance expectations relating to the role. The incumbent shall ensure the fast and accurate execution of trade orders and keep operational losses to a minimum. He/she shall provide a high quality of service to the Bank’s Execution (Asia) - Night Desk clients and Direct Access Clients (DACs) and provide market insights if/where required. The incumbent shall also build highly effective relationships across the Bank to maintain and improve knowledge of the business and its latest products and services to optimise service to clients. The incumbent will be working after Asian office hours (night desk) i.e. during the US market trading sessions. He/she shall be able to work on night shifts and public holidays. The Execution (Asia) - Night Desk Officer reports to Head Execution (Asia) - Night Desk.

YOUR CHALLENGE
People Management

Client Management (internal & external)
  • Fast and precise execution of trade orders, keeping error rates to a minimum
  • Execute client orders for equities and fixed income products in European and US markets during the night shift
  • Maintain close working relationship with our counterparty
  • Render a high quality of service to Execution (Asia) - Night Desk clients and DACs
  • Respond to general client enquiries about global macroeconomy and financial markets
  • Regular consultation with Front representatives to be kept updated of clients’ needs/demands and take appropriate measures to fulfil them, where relevant
Business Management
  • Work to fulfil the ambitions of the team defined by Head Execution (Asia) - Night Desk
  • Maintain and update stored Execution (Asia) - Night Desk clients’ information
  • Maintain accurate records of all trades executed and provide regular reports to management.
  • Regular review of the function’s practices to ensure efficiency and productivity are kept at optimal levels
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Meet all legal, regulatory and compliance standards/requirements
  • Adhere to all relevant Local User Manuals
  • Ensure that necessary suitability checks and other regulatory required checks/disclosures are performed prior to trade execution
  • Ensure that all approvals have been obtained for new counterparties prior to the commencement of trading
  • Regular assessment of the function’s practices to mitigate associated risks arising out of and relating to the said function
  • Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

  • Proficiency in trading systems and tools, as well as Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
  • Strong knowledge of equity, structured products and fixed income products, trading platforms, and execution strategies
  • Good understanding of financial products across all asset classes
  • Strong understanding of the use of electronic pricing tools and dealing systems
  • Represent the Bank’s and shareholders’ interests at all times
  • Strong commercial judgement, business acumen and broad understanding of the financial market and products
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Mandarin will be an added advantage
  • Regulatory MAS licensed representative CACS 1, CACS 2 RES 1B, 2B and CM-SIP
  • Familiar with regulatory expectations and requirements
  • Understand cross border rules and regulations
