  • Experience delivering investment advice with risk-aware asset allocation and performance focus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clients with top investment advice and asset allocation aligned to risk profiles.
  • Lead regular portfolio reviews with Relationship Managers and clients.
  • Collaborate with front-office to understand client needs and market opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal risk controls.
  • Represent the Bank’s interests and contribute to AUM growth.

The Investment Advisor is member of CC&A (Singapore) – Greater China (GC) and shall endeavour to fulfil the financial ambitions defined and outlined for the team by Team Head Client Coverage & Advisory (Singapore) - GC. He/she shall ensure active risk management and meet all regulatory and internal compliance expectations relating to the role. The role requires close working collaboration with Relationship Managers to actively provide clients with top-notch investment advice and asset allocation focused on investment performance. He/she shall generate positive client performance according to the clients’ respective risk profile, considering clients’ explicit requirements and adding perceived value by proactively managing risks and opportunities. Further, he/she shall contribute towards the assets under management growth ambitions for the team. The incumbent shall also build highly effective relationships across the Bank to maintain and improve knowledge of the business and its latest products and services to optimise service to clients.

YOUR CHALLENGE
  • People Management Contribute to the strengthening of the team spirit and the fostering of a collaborative work environment Motivate and provide guidance/feedback to other team members to improve overall performance
  • Client Management (internal & external) Actively provide clients with top notch investment and asset allocation optimisation advice, generating positive investment performance according to the clients’ needs and risk profile jointly with Relationship Managers Conduct regular portfolio reviews with clients and addressing deficiencies promptly and effectively Positively represent and market the team to help attract growth in assets under management Regular consultation with Front representatives to be kept updated of clients’ needs/demands and take appropriate measures to fulfil them, where relevant
  • Business Management Work to fulfil the ambitions of the team defined by Team Head Client Coverage & Advisory (Singapore) - GC Regular review of the function’s practices to ensure efficiency and productivity are kept at optimal levels
  • Compliance & Risk Management Regular monitoring of clients’ portfolio to ensure asset allocation and concentration/diversification are in line with the respective client’s risk profile and investment goals Meet all legal, regulatory and compliance standards/requirements Adhere to all relevant Local User Manuals Regular assessment of the function’s practices to mitigate associated risks arising out of and relating to the said function Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
YOUR PROFILE
  • Personal and Social Able to work independently and in a global team setup to take on initiatives with a positive attitude Client-centric approach for all deliverables Able to quickly troubleshoot problems and provide effective solutions Fast learner and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines Strong communication/coordination skills to deal with different levels of stakeholders Highly motivated with integrative personality Sound affinity with the geographic market(s) to be covered – mainly Greater China Linguistic proficiency in Chinese Mandarin & cultural awareness would be an advantage as the role is required to work with and support GC clients.
  • Professional and Technical Strong academic education in economics, business, finance, or financial engineering Further education in financial markets (CFA, ESG etc.) is a plus Professional with minimum 7 years’ relevant experience in the financial industry, with background as an experienced Investment Advisor managing clients in GC market Possesses in-depth knowledge on the GC market, as well as knowledge and experience covering equities, fixed income, funds, SP and FX from perspective of the assigned client base groups Strong fundamentals across all asset classes and investment products and experience in applying a global portfolio approach across all asset classes Strong commercial judgement, business acumen and broad understanding of the financial market and products Represent the Bank’s and shareholders’ interests at all times
