Job summary

The Julius Baer Group is seeking a qualified Corporate Actions professional in Singapore to manage mandatory and voluntary events for global markets, with emphasis on accuracy and adherence to internal controls. The role supports internal and external clients, coordinating with sub custodians and brokers to ensure timely postings and reconciliations.

The candidate should have 3+ years in banking, strong Corporate Actions and tax knowledge, and SWIFT MT56x/54x familiarity.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree and minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in banking or related discipline.
• Strong technical knowledge on Corporate Action & Tax; experience in Corporate Actions and Settlements.
• SWIFT messages (MT56x/54x) knowledge will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of handling US restricted securities; tax reporting/reclaim would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of handling Bond Restructuring; filing of claims for defaulted instruments would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Processing of Mandatory and Voluntary Corporate Action events spanning global markets and all products covering Singapore and Hong Kong booking centres.
• Ensure daily activities are conducted professionally and accurately while following internal guidelines and policies.
• Client management (internal & external) and coordination with sub custodians, custodians, agents & brokers.
• Monitor queries and provide timely responses or holding replies.
• Review daily inward/outward SWIFT messages and ensure entitlements posted timely.
• Perform daily reconciliation reviews and follow up to resolve breaks.
• Mitigate operation risk by reviewing reconciliations before market deadlines.
• Participate in User-Acceptance-Testing when required.
• Regulatory responsibilities & risk management; uphold standards of honesty, integrity, due care, and compliance.

YOUR CHALLENGE GENERAL DESCRIPTION

• Processing of Mandatory and Voluntary Corporate Action events spanning global markets and all products covering Singapore and Hong Kong booking centres
• Ensure daily activities are conducted professionally and accurately while ensuring that internal guidelines and policies are followed
• Client Management (internal & external)
• Coordinates with internal departments and external sub custodians, custodians, agents & brokers to ensure that daily work meets organizational standards
• Monitor the queries received and provide responses or holding replies within a reasonable timeframe.
• Business Management Review daily inward/outward swift messages pertaining to Corporate Actions Processing & Reconciling positions and subsequently the entitlements due from Corporate Actions related transaction
• Monitor confirmation of entitlement and ensure entries posted on accurate and timely basis
• Perform daily review on reconciliation breaks for all activity with timely follow up and resolution
• Perform review on daily reconciliation before market deadlines in order to mitigate any possible operation risk of missing/incomplete processing of voluntary events resulting to possible operation loss
• Participate in User-Acceptance-Testing when required
• Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Work with the relevant teams in fulfilment of regulatory requirements.

• SWIFT messages (MT56x/54x) knowledge will be an advantage.
