Julius Baer is recruiting a Middle Office Specialist for the Asia team in Singapore. You will provide day-to-day trade support and controls across the FX business, coordinating with FX Sales, Trading, Front Office, and Operations to ensure accurate processing and risk management.

The Middle Office Specialist is a key member of the Middle Office (Asia) team in Singapore, responsible for providing day-to-day trade support and controls across the FX business. In this role, the primary responsibilities include ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timely processing of transactions throughout the trade lifecycle. The individual shall work closely with FX Sales and Trading, Front Office, Operations, and other internal stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact for trade-related queries, issue resolution, and operational matters. Further, the individual shall also contribute to system and process enhancements, new product initiatives, and projects to enhance operational efficiency and ensure supporting services remain relevant and competitive. The Middle Office Specialist reports to the Head of Middle Office (Asia). N.B: For the avoidance of doubt, any reference to function/team in this document refers to Middle Office (Asia)
People management Contribute to the strengthening of the team spirit and the fostering of a collaborative work environment Build highly impactful relationships with global and regional stakeholders across functions in the Bank Client management (internal & external) Ensure the timely and accurate trade support and controls across the FX business, while managing operational risks effectively Regularly consult with front representatives to be kept updated of FX business needs/demands and take appropriate measures to fulfil them, where relevant Perform post trade activities, e.g. exception handling and issue investigation, etc. Handle queries from FX sales/trading, Front Office, Operations and external counterparties/brokers Business management Support the team’s financial and strategic objectives and operational goals, driving business outcomes and results Identify opportunities to enhance functional efficiency and productivity, proposing process improvements and workflow optimisations, where relevant/appropriate Conduct regular control checks and produce relevant reports Participate and support ad-hoc projects to enhance and enrich the Bank’s product offering, GPS systems and middle office processes Manage the lifecycle events of FX products, structured products, OTC derivatives, etc Regulatory responsibilities &/or risk management Meet all legal, regulatory, and compliance standards/requirements Adhere to the standards and expectations outlined in the relevant user manuals and guidelines Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviours including, but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Relevant higher educational and professional background in finance, economics, business administration, or related field 5-8 years of relevant working experience, specifically in middle office FX support Simple programming skill (e.g. Visual Basics) is a plus Strong understanding of the use of order management processes and core banking systems Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with fluency in English; Mandarin would be an advantage Strong commercial judgement, business acumen and a broad understanding of the financial markets and products
Familiarity with regulatory expectations and requirements Understanding of cross border rules and regulations
