Job summary

ATA Medical (Tanjong Pagar) PTE. LTD. is seeking a clinical nursing and phlebotomy specialist to support venipuncture, patient preparation, and screening procedures. You will guide patients through the process, document results in EMR, and ensure infection control and safety across all tasks.

The role involves front desk support, patient flow management at screening stations, and coordination of sample handling from collection to dispatch. MOH guidelines adherence is essential.

Qualifications

• Nursing qualification and MOH guidelines knowledge.
• Phlebotomy certification and current practice.
• Ability to perform basic to intermediate nursing procedures per competency sign-off.

Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture safely and accurately.
• Conduct nursing procedures as competency allows.
• Prepare and guide patients through screening procedures.
• Provide clear instructions before and after procedures.
• Reassure and manage anxious or difficult patients.
• Escalate abnormal findings or clinical concerns promptly.
• Support patient registration and clinic front desk workflow.
• Assist in patient flow management across screening stations.
• Assist in setup and teardown of screening stations.
• Ensure correct labelling, handling, and dispatch of specimens.
• Maintain accuracy in EMR entries and laboratory forms.
• Support timely submission and tracking of samples.
• Prepare and maintain clinical and phlebotomy equipment.
• Ensure infection control protocols are followed.
• Safe disposal of sharps and clinical waste.
• Adhere to SOPs, MOH guidelines, and PDPA requirements.

Job description

1. Clinical Nursing & Phlebotomy Duties

• Perform venepuncture (blood taking) safely and accurately

• Conduct basic to intermediate nursing procedures (based on competency sign-off), including:

• Vital signs (BP, BMI, body composition)

• ECG, visual acuity, tonometry, retinal photography

• Spirometry, treadmill stress test (if trained)

• Wound dressing and other assigned procedures

• Support pre-screening assessments and patient preparation

2. Patient Care & Clinical Support

• Prepare and guide patients through screening procedures

• Provide clear instructions before and after procedures

• Reassure and manage anxious or difficult patients

• Escalate abnormal findings or clinical concerns promptly

3. Clinic & Operational Support

• Support patient registration and clinic front desk workflow when required

• Assist in patient flow management across screening stations

• Participate in corporate health screening (onsite/offsite)

• Assist in setup and teardown of screening stations

4. Sample Handling & Documentation

• Ensure correct labelling, handling, and dispatch of specimens

• Maintain accuracy in EMR entries and laboratory forms

• Support timely submission and tracking of samples

5. Equipment & Infection Control

• Prepare and maintain clinical and phlebotomy equipment

• Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols

• Safe disposal of sharps and clinical waste

6. Compliance & Safety

• Adhere to SOPs, MOH guidelines, and PDPA requirements

• Ensure patient safety during all procedures

• Escalate adverse events or complications immediately
