Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Welding, Fabrication technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial metal work, including supervisory experience.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings, fabrication standards, and welding procedures.
• Familiar with common tools: MIG/TIG/Stick welding, grinder, gas cutter, plasma cutter, slip roller, etc.
• Safety knowledge of hot work and workshop safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations in the workshop, including cutting, welding, grinding, drilling, and repairs.
• Interpret engineering drawings and translate them into clear work instructions for the team.
• Allocate manpower and monitor job progress to meet schedule and quality expectations.
• Ensure fabrication work aligns with structural integrity, tolerances, and requirements.
• Inspect completed jobs for workmanship, dimensional accuracy, and welding quality.
• Support root cause analysis of failed or defective components and propose improvements.
• Ensure availability of materials, tools, and consumables required for jobs.
• Monitor usage of consumables to control costs.
• Supervise technicians and provide on-job coaching, identifying training needs.
• Ensure compliance with workshop safety rules and housekeeping.

Workshop Supervisor (Engineering)

• Location: Tuas
• (Company Transport / Transport Allowance if candidate travel to work by themselves)
• Working hours: Monday to Friday (8am – 5pm), Saturday (8am – 12pm)
• Basic: $3000 to $3400 + Entitled to OT
