Job summary

Grab is seeking an engineering manager to lead a distributed systems team focused on the Transaction Platform. You will own design and delivery of reliable, scalable services, mentor engineers, and participate in reviews.

Partner with product, design, analytics, and data science to align roadmaps and metrics, and set merchant-focused experiments. The role blends hands-on solutioning with people leadership, requiring a strong foundation in algorithms and system performance.

Qualifications

Five+ years in distributed systems.
Track record of building large-scale online services.
At least two+ years as an engineering manager.
Hands-on in tech solutioning as an engineering manager.
Experience using AI tools to improve productivity.
Strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field.
Proficiency in any language; willing to work in Golang.

Responsibilities

Design and implement reliable, scalable services for Grab's Transaction Platform systems.
Evaluate technology stacks to improve platform performance and scalability.
Partner with product, design, analytics, and data science on roadmap and metrics.
Set merchant-focused metrics and design experiments with cross-functional leaders.
Set team engineering strategy and mentor junior and senior engineers.
Participate in code and design reviews to maintain development standards.
Participate in interview loops to hire top engineers into the team.
