Job summary

Grab is seeking an experienced engineering leader to head a team of 10+ engineers within the Transaction Platform, based onsite in Singapore. You will drive technical direction while mentoring staff, balancing hands-on leadership with people management, and shaping the architectural roadmap for merchant-facing services.

You will collaborate across product, design, analytics, and data science to define metrics, validate experiments, and ensure reliable delivery of critical transaction systems

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in distributed systems.
• At least 2+ years in a software engineering manager role.
• Experience engaging with AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity.
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures; good understanding of system performance and scaling.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proficient in any programming language and willing to work in Golang.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly reliable, scalable services for Grab's Transaction Platform, evaluating technology stacks for performance and scale.
• Partner with product, design, analytics, and data science to build roadmaps, metrics, and experiments.
• Set the engineering strategy within the team and mentor engineers across levels.
• Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high development standards.
• Participate in interview loops to hire top engineers into the team.
