A leading company in maritime solutions in Singapore is seeking an Engineer for Telecom Engineering. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of design engineering experience in telecommunication systems, particularly for offshore vessels. You will be responsible for various engineering tasks, including preparation of functional design specifications and drawings in AutoCAD. Responsibilities

• Responsible for the engineering works of Telecom Systems in Marine & Oil & Gas.
• Prepare drawings such as Cable Block Diagram and Layout Drawings.
• Able to multi-task and work on two or more Projects simultaneously.

Job description

What you will be doing

• Responsible for the engineering works of Telecom Systems commonly used in Marine & Oil & Gas sector. Telecom Systems included such as WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi network, PA/GA, CCTV, PABX, IPTV, TVRO, VSAT, Environmental Monitoring, GMDSS, UHF, VHF, RACONS, Radar & Navigation System, etc.
• Prepare RFQ, and Technical Bid Evaluation when required.
• Prepare Functional Design Specification for Telecom Systems.
• Prepare TQ, MTO, Equipment List and Cable Schedule.
• Prepare drawings (in AutoCAD) such as Cable Block Diagram, Layout Drawings, Termination Drawings.
• Conversant with class society guidelines, international codes and standards such as IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NORSOK, DNV, LLYODS & ABS.
• An understanding and working knowledge of the ATEX /IEC Ex Directives, and the installation of electrical equipment in hazardous areas.
• Able to multi-task and work on two or more Projects at the same time.
• 20% local and overseas travelling required for visits to yard for meetings, equipment installation support & commissioning work.
• Any other associated tasks and responsibilities assigned from time to time

• Minimum Diploma/Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ design engineering experience in Telecommunication systems for offshore vessels.
