Job summary

CANATEC PTE. LTD. is expanding its technical services team in Singapore and seeks an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our data centre operations.

You will perform periodic servicing, troubleshooting and maintenance of cooling systems (CRAC, precision cooling), diagnose faults, and provide on-site client support and training. Strong documentation, safety compliance, and ability to manage contractor activities are essential.

Qualifications

• ITE/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of hands-on preventive maintenance experience in cooling systems, data centre cooling preferred (CRAC, precision air-conditioning).
• Strong electrical/mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of CRAC, WDS or related critical infrastructure is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; organized and able to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform periodic servicing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cooling systems.

Job description

With our ongoing expansion, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated professional to join our growing company.

1)Technical Service & Maintenance:

• Perform periodic servicing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cooling systems.
• Diagnose hardware/software faults, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
• Conduct equipment power-up/down procedures and respond promptly to e-calls (emergency calls).

2) Client Support & Training:

• Provide technical support and onsite training on Operation & Maintenance Manuals (OMM).
• Maintain strong client relationships.
• Liaise with customer engineering departments to ensure compliance with company procedures and quality guidelines.

3) Documentation & Reporting:

• Complete detailed service reports after each servicing/e-call.
• Submit weekly/monthly reports on work activities, progress, and remedial actions.
• Maintain accurate filing, documentation, and tracking of all service records.

4) Site & Contractor Management:

• Monitor and manage contractor activities to ensure adherence to safety/operational procedures.
• Review site "Events and Actions," implementing corrective measures as needed.
• Plan, execute, and update daily work schedules.

5) Safety & Compliance:

• Strictly follow data center safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
• Ensure all work activities comply with occupational safety guidelines.
• Support ad-hoc tasks assigned by superiors.

Requirements:

• Minimum ITE/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in preventive maintenance engineering with hands-on experience in cooling systems, preferably involving data centre cooling solutions, CRAC, precision air-conditioning or other mission-critical cooling infrastructure.
• Proficient in electrical/mechanical systems troubleshooting.
• Practical knowledge of CRAC, WDS (water detection system), or related critical infrastructure is an advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills (written/verbal).
• Highly organized with ability to prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments.
• Team player with a positive, motivated, and willing-to-learn attitude.
• Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to perform standby duties as required by operational needs.
• Able to perform manual tasks in data center environments.
