Job summary

SMBC Group seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to lead EUS reliability across APAC, delivering observability, SLOs, and automation. You will own SRE processes, drive incident analysis, and mentor regional champions to reduce toil and enable engineering-led operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline.
8–12 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure/Platform Engineering, End User Computing Engineering, or IT Operations, with demonstrable reliability-engineering and automation leadership.
Automation-first mindset with strong hands-on scripting and orchestration experience (Python, PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API; Terraform/Ansible or equivalent).
Strong experience defining and operating SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and reliability KPIs.
Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune, and endpoint management in cloud-native environments; strong Windows 10/11 and iOS knowledge.
Experience with observability/monitoring and DEX platforms (e.g. Nexthink, 1E, Lakeside) and ITSM integration (ServiceNow).

Responsibilities

Define endpoint reliability indicators (SLIs) and build telemetry to measure them, leveraging Intune, Graph API, and DEX tooling for end‑to‑end observability.
Establish and maintain reliability dashboards, real-time monitoring, alerting, and toil measurement across APAC markets.
Define, publish, and operationalise SLOs and error budgets for EUS services; own weekly to quarterly reliability reporting cadence.
Lead automation to eliminate manual toil across EUS including patch deployment, device provisioning, DR failover, and ticket workflows.
Lead problem management, root-cause analysis, RCA, and drive preventive engineering fixes; mentor SRE champions across regional clusters.
