Job summary

Tong Loong Engineering Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an Electrical Engineer specialized in fire alarm and detection systems to design, review and coordinate projects from concept to installation.

You will prepare schematics, layouts and specifications, coordinate with M&E, ACMV, architectural and plumbing services, and ensure compliance with SCDF/FSSD, Singapore Fire Code and NFPA standards where applicable.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering / Construction or equivalent.
• M & E experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of working experience with Fire Alarm Industry.
• Experience in Construction industry.
• Experience in Electrical Works, Fire Alarm System Installation and Maintenance.
• Knowledge of fire alarm system components, such as control panels, detectors, notification devices, and initiating devices.
• Physically fit.
• Excellent Communication, Leadership, Interpersonal and Problem-solving.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, work under pressure and manage deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and collaborative teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, review and coordinate fire alarm and detection systems, including addressable fire alarm panels, detectors, MCPs, sounders and interfaces.
• Design/coordinate emergency power supplies, fire pumps, fire alarm power, emergency lighting and related electrical systems.
• Coordinate fire protection systems with M&E, ACMV, architectural, structural and plumbing services.
• Prepare electrical schematics, layouts, equipment schedules, calculations, technical specifications and shop drawings.
• Ensure designs and installations comply with SCDF/FSSD requirements, Singapore Fire Code, relevant Singapore Standards and NFPA standards where applicable.
• Liaise with consultants, clients, contractors, Qualified Persons (QPs), Registered Inspectors (RIs) and authorities.
• Conduct site inspections and supervise installation, testing and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot fire alarm/electrical system faults and provide technical solutions.
• Review shop drawings, method statements, material submissions and as-built drawings.
• Prepare testing/commissioning reports, inspection documentation and O&M manuals.
• Support project tenders, quotations, variation orders and technical submissions.
• Manage project schedules, subcontractors and site coordination for larger projects.
