Job summary

James Fisher Singapore PTE. LTD. seeks an Electrical Engineer to support maritime and subsea systems across their lifecycle—from deployment and integration to sustainment and customer operations.

The role focuses on reliability, hands-on problem solving, and delivering high-quality technical support in challenging environments, with collaboration across internal teams and customers.

Travel internationally is required and offshore/shipboard readiness is preferred where applicable.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical or related field.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
• Fit for offshore/shipboard operations, if required.
• Experience in design engineering or product development is advantageous.
• System thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
• Hands-on technical capability.
• Strong customer engagement and communication.
• Willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, test, and support systems during deployments.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair systems on-site and remotely.
• Integrate, configure, and test subsystems; support FAT/SAT.
• Monitor performance, analyze failures, support maintenance and sustainment.
• Deliver training and develop documentation for operations.
• Provide feedback for product improvements and safety compliance.

The Role:

The Electrical Engineer plays a key role in supporting the company’s maritime and subsea systems throughout their full lifecycle, from deployment and integration through to long‑term sustainment and customer operations. Working closely with internal teams and customers, the role focuses on ensuring systems perform reliably and efficiently in demanding environments, while delivering a high standard of technical support and customer satisfaction. This position suits an adaptable engineer with broad experience across engineering, marine, or related industries, and a strong interest in hands‑on problem solving and operational excellence.

What you’ll be doing:

• Install, commission, test, and support systems during deployments, trials, and operations.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair systems, providing on‑site and remote customer support.
• Integrate, configure, and test subsystems, supporting FAT/SAT and resolving integration issues.
• Monitor system performance, analyse failures, and support maintenance, spares, and sustainment planning.
• Deliver training and develop documentation to support customer operational readiness.
• Feed operational insight into product improvements, upgrades, configuration control, and safety compliance.

What we’re looking for:

• Good Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, or equivalent).
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Medically fit for offshore and shipboard operations, if required.
• Experience in design engineering or product development is advantageous.
• Systems thinking and system‑of‑systems awareness.
• Hands‑on technical capability.
• Strong customer engagement and communication.
• Adaptability in operational environments.
• Ability to operate effectively in cross‑functional and multicultural environments.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
