J.O. Engineering (SG) PTE. LTD.

in Singapore seeks an Electrical Engineer to service land & marine electrical and automation systems on board vessels alongside in shipyards and anchorage. This contract/full-time role covers warranty work and on-site diagnostics within Singapore waters. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing faults in power distribution, interpreting schematics and PLC diagrams, and reporting findings with vessel owners and crews while complying with safety

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Power Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in marine, offshore, or industrial electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of AC and DC marine power systems and power distribution.
• Experience with PLC systems and ladder diagrams interpretation.
• Familiarity with marine classification requirements (ABS, DNV, LR, IMO).
• Ability to read electrical schematics, cable schedules, and technical manuals.
• Willingness to board vessels at shipyards, ports, or anchorage in Singapore.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and vessel crew.
• Must hold valid safety certifications for vessel boarding (e.g., Shipyard Safety Instruction Course, Port Facility Security).

Responsibilities

• Perform warranty service jobs on board vessels alongside and at anchorage in Singapore
• Conduct troubleshooting of marine electrical systems, control circuits, and automation equipment

• Interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical drawings

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our land & marine service team in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing warranty service jobs, troubleshooting, and maintenance of land & marine electrical and automation systems on board vessels at shipyards and anchorage. This role does not involve sea voyages—all work is conducted with vessels alongside in Singapore waters.
