Job summary

Cloudflare is building a Customer Reliability Engineering (CRE) team to own high‑severity customer issues end‑to‑end, from signal to resolution, across edge, network, DNS, and APIs.

In this role you will diagnose incidents, drive fixes with Product Engineering, and develop proactive reliability features while partnering with Support and Platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Rapid incident response and root cause analysis: Own the most complex, high‑severity customer issues end‑to‑end, from first signal through confirmed resolution. Lead deep‑dive debugging across edge, network, DNS, transport, APIs, and customer‑side configuration.
• Proactive reliability engineering: Analyze signals across the customer base to find systemic risks; contribute monitoring, detection, and diagnostic capabilities to product engineering.
• Cross‑functional partnership: Manage the technical escalation lifecycle with clear ownership and timely communication; partner with Product Engineering on fixes, workarounds, and config changes.
• Technical leadership and enablement: Raise the technical floor of Customer Support through pair‑debugging and shared tooling; document procedures in runbooks and knowledge bases.
• Product and platform depth: Maintain deep expertise across Cloudflare’s product portfolio and anticipate customer impact from new releases.
