Job summary
Cloudflare is seeking a Customer Reliability Engineering (CRE) engineer to respond rapidly to high-severity incidents, reproduce defects, isolate root causes across edge and origin, and drive fixes with Product Engineering. You will develop telemetry and AI-assisted diagnostics to surface logs and configurations, enabling proactive reliability engineering and scalable incident response.
You will own on-call for critical events, build detectors, and help shape the next generation of reliability
Qualifications
- 5+ years in site reliability engineering or similar
- Strong networking and security knowledge (DNS, HTTP/S, TLS)
- Experience with incident management and postmortems
- Proficient in scripting (Bash, Python) and automation
- Ability to communicate complex tech to engineers and leaders
Responsibilities
- Rapid incident response and root-cause analysis across full stack
- Lead deep-dive debugging across edge, network, DNS, APIs and app configurations
- Own on-call for high-severity incidents
- Develop telemetry, detectors, and automated diagnostics to reduce toil
- Collaborate with Product Engineering to drive fixes and improvements
