Based in Singapore Corporate Office, we are looking for a passionate and energetic individual to join us as Director, Technical Services (MEP).

Job Responsibilities:

The Director, Technical Services provides strategic technical leadership and advisory support to General Managers and property Engineering teams across the portfolio. The role is responsible for driving technical standards, operational excellence, asset performance, sustainability and risk management, while providing expert guidance on complex operational and engineering matters. The Director also acts as a key technical partner to properties, supporting strategic decision-making, capital planning and long-term asset optimisation to enhance the overall performance and value of the portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with the property owners and appointed consultants to propose their construction and development plans to construct or convert the existing building into hotels/service apartment to ensure the readiness of the property for operations.
• Liaise with the Owner/s and the appointed consultants on the design development and construction completion for the various projects
• Ensure compliant to the company branding specifications and Design Guide
• Fully conversant on life safety procedures and standards, and ensures adherence to the regulatory requirements without compromise
• Review design consultant submitted drawings and specifications
• Drive quality control procedures, their implementation and quality assurance mechanisms to assure compliance
• Attend mock-up room evaluation sessions and prepare Mock-up Room Review Reports.
• Advises and comments on drawings, MEP specifications, program, any technical related documents and mock-up room approval
• Ensure utility management programme incorporated in design phase to minimise utility consumption, but without compromising guest comfort.
• Advise and support the Project Managers to ensure works is to completed with the approved total development cost budget for the various projects
• Ensure adherence to the project completion timeline
• Proactively monitor progress and take necessary steps to ensure variations are aligned to the company branding specifications and service standards
• Liaise with other operating Departments on issues relating to the Project
• Attend the Testing & Commissioning of the MEP systems prior the project handover
• Fully responsible for the co-ordination of a successful project handover to the Hotel operations
• Assist in preparing Property Improvement Plan (PIP) for existing hotels, proposed hotel conversions, and proposed adaptive reuse properties
• Assist and guide the incorporation of ESG (Environmental and Sustainability Governance) and Energy and Water Efficiency strategies in project design
• Visit projects (as needed) during construction to ensure compliance with the submitted and approved plans and CDs. Address concerns immediately, in person, while at the site, and provide detailed written correspondence following the site visit
• Provide support to ensure that the Testing and Commissioning is properly implemented
• Continuously review engineering requirements and changes in the Brand Standards and provide recommendations for updates and changes to adapt to best industry practices and regional particularities

Other Responsibilities:

• Any other duties of a comparable nature as may be required.

Requirements:

• Possesses minimally a Diploma in Engineering
• 8 - 10 years of working experience in a similar capacity with strong familiarity with all phases and aspect of the project management process
• Prior Hotel Engineering Operations experience will be an added advantage
• Good knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Construction
• Organised, able to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines efficiently
• Project management in Construction in hospitality industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels
• A team player and ability to meet tight deadlines independent and meticulous
• Based in Singapore and willing to travel extensively
