Description du poste

The mandate is particularly focused on supply chain excellence within semiconductor equipment, manufacturing, and technology businesses. The role requires an individual who combines the strategic problem-solving capabilities of a top-tier consultant with practical semiconductor industry experience and the ability to translate strategy into measurable business outcomes.

The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of value creation initiatives, work hands-on with management teams, and deliver tangible improvements in operational and financial performance. He/she will work closely with portfolio company leadership teams and investment professionals to identify, develop, and execute initiatives that improve operational performance, strengthen supply chain resilience, optimise working capital, and enhance profitability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supply Chain Transformation & Operational Excellence
  • Lead end-to-end supply chain transformation initiatives across semiconductor portfolio companies, covering strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, production planning, inventory management, logistics, and order fulfilment.
  • Assess existing supply chain operating models, identify performance gaps, and develop actionable improvement roadmaps aligned with each company's strategic and financial objectives.
  • Drive procurement excellence initiatives, including supplier consolidation, strategic sourcing, category management, contract renegotiation, and total cost of ownership optimisation.
  • Strengthen supplier performance management, improve supply continuity, and mitigate risks associated with supplier concentration, component shortages, long lead times, and geopolitical disruptions.
  • Optimise inventory levels, material availability, production throughput, and fulfilment performance while balancing service levels, operational flexibility, and working capital requirements.
  • Establish robust supply chain planning processes, performance management systems, and operating disciplines to improve predictability, responsiveness, and execution.
  • Partner with portfolio company CEOs, COOs, CFOs, procurement leaders, and operations teams to identify and prioritise value creation opportunities.
  • Translate investment theses and business plans into actionable operational improvement programmes with clearly defined financial and operational targets.
  • Develop and implement value creation plans spanning cost optimisation, gross margin improvement, procurement savings, working capital release, productivity enhancement, and operational scalability.
  • Establish performance baselines, define key performance indicators, and track the financial impact of initiatives against agreed targets.
  • Drive execution of cross-functional initiatives, ensuring accountability, appropriate resource allocation, and timely delivery of results.
  • Support portfolio companies in scaling their operating models, processes, and supply chain capabilities as they grow organically or expand into new markets.
3. Semiconductor Industry Expertise
  • Apply a strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing, semiconductor equipment, and related technology supply chains to identify and implement industry-specific operational improvements.
  • Leverage knowledge of semiconductor capital equipment and advanced manufacturing ecosystems, including complex supplier networks, precision components, electronics, engineered materials, and specialised manufacturing processes.
  • Address supply chain challenges associated with long component lead times, engineering changes, product complexity, demand volatility, quality requirements, and stringent customer delivery commitments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier collaboration, production scheduling, capacity utilisation, material availability, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Work with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams to ensure supply chain improvements support product quality, technology roadmaps, and customer requirements.
  • Benchmark portfolio company performance against relevant semiconductor industry practices and identify opportunities to adopt proven operational models.
4. Private Equity Value Creation & Portfolio Support
  • Work closely with the investment team throughout the investment lifecycle, from initial operational assessments and due diligence to post-acquisition transformation and ongoing portfolio performance improvement.
  • Conduct operational and supply chain assessments of potential investments, identifying risks, value creation opportunities, and potential improvements to the investment case.
  • Develop quantified value creation initiatives and implementation plans to support investment underwriting and post-investment execution.
  • Support the identification of operational risks and opportunities during commercial and operational due diligence, including procurement effectiveness, supplier dependencies, inventory exposure, and scalability constraints.
  • Provide regular updates to investment professionals and portfolio company leadership on initiative progress, financial impact, implementation risks, and expected outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of repeatable operational excellence frameworks, supply chain playbooks, and best practices that can be deployed across the portfolio.
  • Build strong working relationships with portfolio company management teams and influence stakeholders across different functions and organisational levels.
  • Lead cross-functional transformation programmes, bringing together procurement, operations, manufacturing, finance, engineering, and commercial teams.
  • Challenge existing practices constructively and introduce data-driven approaches to operational decision-making.
  • Develop internal capabilities within portfolio companies to ensure improvements are embedded in day-to-day operations and sustained over time.
  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, adapting the approach to the maturity, scale, and specific needs of each portfolio company.
