Job summary

BIT is seeking a DevOps Engineer in Singapore to design automated deployment solutions, configure VMware deployments, monitor performance, and address incidents. The role requires Linux, VMware, MySQL, Prometheus/ELK, Kubernetes, AWS, and security best practices.

Fluent Mandarin liaison with stakeholders is needed; a 1–3 year background in infra engineering is expected, with a Bachelor’s in CS or related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in a DevOps or similar infrastructure engineering role.
• Experience in Linux (Ubuntu & CentOS), virtualization technologies (Oracle & Vmware), database management (MySQL), monitoring/operational intelligence products (Prometheus, ELK) and best security practices for server installation and administration.
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Experience with AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the self-motivation to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin, as this role requires regular liaison with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders across the Group.

• Configure system, storage and networking parameters for virtual machine deployments on the VMware platform.
• Monitor system stability and performance after deployment, and proactively identify and address potential issues.
• Handle incident resolution and project-based tasks related to server deployments.
• Apply security best practices in server installation, configuration and administration to protect custody infrastructure.
