Job summary

BIT, formerly Matrixport, is seeking a technical leader to manage a distributed team of software engineers across multiple countries, supporting asset management platforms. Qualifications

• 6+ years backend development experience with 3+ years in people management.
• Expert in Go or Rust; able to design and maintain large-scale systems.
• Deep knowledge of MySQL and transaction isolation.
• Experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC).
• Proven ability to lead distributed teams across regions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead a distributed team of software engineers across different countries, supporting the systems and services of the company's asset management business.
• Serve as the technical lead for the entire business unit, developing a deep understanding of product and operational needs to plan system and team development, and define the technical roadmap and engineering standards.
• Oversee the overall delivery quality and efficiency of the team, while balancing long-term initiatives.
• Participate in the solution design and review of key modules, and develop well-controlled execution plans for high-complexity or high-risk problems.
• Set goals, conduct performance reviews, and lead recruitment and training for the engineering groups within the department.
• Understand requirements from business, product, operations, and risk management, and adjust engineering resource allocation accordingly.
• Establish development processes and engineering standards suited to the AI era, and lead the team in pragmatically using AI to improve overall delivery quality and efficiency.
• Represent the team in communication with business, operations, risk management, and other departments, and coordinate with other engineering teams.

Job Requirements:

• 6+ years of backend development experience, including 3+ years managing technical teams.
• Expert in Golang or Rust, with experience developing and maintaining large-scale applications. Familiar with scripting and tooling languages such as Python, Bash, and SQL.
• In-depth knowledge of MySQL transaction isolation mechanisms and their common patterns in real-world application development.
• Familiar with standard cloud services such as AWS, including EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, VPC, and ELB.
• Extensive experience designing, maintaining, and iterating on distributed systems. Deep understanding of the complexities of distributed systems in areas such as transactional operations, data consistency, testability, and observability, with mature methodologies for addressing them.

Preferred:

• Experience developing financial services such as asset management, trading, or payments. Familiarity with derivatives, structured products, and DeFi products.
• Experience managing cross-regional or remote teams.
