Job summary

United Overseas Bank Limited is seeking a Development Manager to lead a global, hybrid delivery team in Singapore. The role focuses on Java/J2EE development, Oracle SQL, and middleware integration while driving DevOps practices and robust SDLC governance.

You will coordinate with Technical Delivery Manager and vendor teams, guiding design work, ensuring quality standards, and delivering solutions in a fast-paced financial services environment. Strong leadership and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; technical degree is advantageous.
• More than 8 years of hands-on technical experience in Banking or Financial Services domain.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience across full SDLC with both Agile and Waterfall delivery.
• Hands-on Java/J2EE development with Oracle SQL; Unix/Linux knowledge; shell scripting a plus.
• Familiarity with middleware/integration tech and DevOps practices including CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Technical Delivery Manager, System Analyst, Infra, deployments and vendor teams.
• Drive technical innovation to enhance platform capabilities and scalability.
• Lead multi-vendor teams to deliver solutions on time and to spec.
• Produce detailed design and low level design documents.
• Ensure adherence to development, configuration, and deployment standards.
• Analyze performance, security, and testing issues and escalate as needed.
