Job summary

Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Practice in Design or Lecturer in Design in the HASS department.

We seek an accomplished design researcher or practitioner who can drive pedagogical innovation at the interface of design thinking, technology, human-centered design, and AI, and who can help students use AI critically while grounding work in real-world prototyping.

Qualifications

• Evidence of success in design realization across products, services or systems.
• Strong understanding of opportunities, limitations, and responsible use of AI in design.
• Proven excellence in teaching, mentoring, or studio-based learning.
• Experience or capability for programme management and leadership is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop undergraduate Studio courses within the Design and AI programme.
• Develop graduate courses within M.Eng. Innovation by Design and MTD programmes.
• Guide introduction of Design.AI activities and pedagogy across HASS and DAI curricula.
• Integrate AI-enabled design methods and guide student use of AI with human oversight.
