Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) invites applications for an open-rank, tenure-track faculty position in Psychological Sciences within the HASS cluster. We seek scholars with a strong research program and the ability to teach quantitative methods.

The Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) Cluster at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) invites applications for an open-rank, tenure-track faculty position. We seek applicants with a scholarly background in any area of the psychological sciences.

We encourage applications from candidates who can contribute productively to the Design and Artificial Intelligence (DAI) programme, in particular to our Human-centred Intelligence (HI) Track. The HI track offers instruction across fields like psychology, philosophy, and human–AI interaction, and is embedded within the broader DAI theme of leveraging human-centred design and AI methods for real-world impact. We thus seek scholars with expertise that can bridge the understanding of machine and human intelligence, and who are actively engaged in rigorous quantitative research involving both. Examples include the psychological study of human–AI interaction or the use of AI for the study of human cognition and behaviour.

Candidates should have a proven record of effective teaching at the university level. An ability to teach advanced methods in statistical or computational modelling will be viewed favourably.

The selected candidate will:

• Maintain a strong research profile including publications and grant funding.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary research within SUTD through collaboration with colleagues in engineering, computer science, architecture, and design.
• Strengthen teaching for the Design and Artificial Intelligence (DAI) undergraduate programme as well as the Psychology & Business Management Minor.
• Contribute to the innovation of pedagogical approaches that leverage and embody Design.AI, as well as initiatives that bridge scholarly instruction with real-world problem solving.
• Actively contribute to the shaping of HASS and DAI, as well as their interface with the broader SUTD ecosystem and with partners in industry and the public sector.

• A statement of current and future research
• A statement of teaching experience and philosophy
• A 500-word description and selected bibliography of up to ten readings for each of two courses you may wish to offer
• PDF copies of two representative scholarly publications
• Names, affiliations, and email addresses of three referees. (Please note that candidates who advance to the interview stage will be asked to submit two letters of recommendation. Please have your recommenders ready to send their letters via email or Interfolio.)
