Job summary
APAR TECHNOLOGIES PTE. LTD. is seeking a database administrator to install, configure, and optimize SQL Server and Oracle environments. You will monitor performance, enforce security, and implement backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
The role involves collaboration with developers on database design, performance improvements, and data migration tasks. Experience with SSRS/SSIS is highly valued, with MongoDB knowledge a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/IT or related field.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server and/or Oracle database administration.
- Experience with database security and access management.
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and high availability solutions.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain and upgrade database management systems.
- Monitor database performance, availability and reliability.
- Perform performance tuning, query optimization and index management.
- Configure and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Manage users, roles, access permissions and security controls.
- Implement security policies and data privacy requirements.
- Design and optimize schemas for performance and scalability.
- Configure replication, clustering and high availability solutions.
- Perform upgrades, patches and compatibility assessments.
- Support failover mechanisms including clustering and mirroring.
- Conduct disaster recovery exercises for critical databases.
- Collaborate with developers on database design and performance.
