Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases. The role emphasizes performance tuning, high availability, backups, and production support while coordinating with infrastructure, application, and security teams.

Responsibilities include security controls, incident response, and cloud database projects. Strong scripting in PowerShell and T-SQL/PL-SQL is essential for automation and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting Oracle and/or SQL Server in enterprise production environments.
• Strong experience in database administration, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with HA/DR and backup/recovery.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and handle critical production incidents.
• OCP, OCM, Microsoft SQL/Azure Database or ITIL certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, upgrade, patch and migrate Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Manage database users, roles, permissions, schemas and storage.
• Monitor database performance, availability and capacity, and perform SQL/database tuning.
• Manage backup and recovery, including RMAN, Data Guard, Always On, Replication and Log Shipping.
• Support high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR) and recovery testing.
• Implement database security, access controls, encryption, auditing and vulnerability remediation.
• Troubleshoot database incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA) and support major incidents.
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Shell Script, T-SQL and PL/SQL.
• Maintain SOPs, runbooks, recovery procedures and technical documentation.
• Support database migration, application deployment, cloud database and infrastructure projects.
• Work closely with infrastructure, application, security and vendor teams.
• Participatein on call/after-hours support when required.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by supervisor
