Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or Database Engineer focusing on SQL databases.
- Strong expertise in database design, normalization, and optimization techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational database management systems.
- Experience with backup, recovery, and maintenance of large-scale databases.
- Ability to read SQL execution plans to optimize performance.
- Good communication to work with cross-functional teams.
- Bonus: cloud-based DB services, NoSQL familiarity, and Azure cert.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable databases to support applications.
- Optimize SQL queries and performance using execution plans and indexing.
- Plan and test regular backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Monitor health and performance, identifying bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams for reliability.
- Maintain documentation of architectures, backups, and maintenance.
- Implement security best practices in access control.
