Job summary

Zenith Infotech (S) Pte Ltd is seeking a Big Data Platform Operations Engineer to oversee the day-to-day running of a Cloudera-based data platform in Singapore. You will monitor cluster health, perform upgrades and patching, and collaborate with security teams to maintain a secure and highly available environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with Cloudera components, monitoring tools, and scripting. Familiarity with Informatica/Denodo and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a plus.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Cloudera Data Platform components (HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, Impala, Ranger)
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Cloudera Manager, Zabbix, Grafana, Splunk, SyslogNG
• Familiarity with middleware applications (Informatica, Denodo) and scripting languages (bash, Python)
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) is a plus
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues from system resources to application stacks
• Track record of high-availability, high-performance, high-security deployments in data centres or hybrid clouds
• Cloudera Certified Administrator or similar certification is a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the big data platform to ensure high availability, reliability and performance.
• Proactively monitor platform services, components and clusters to identify issues and take corrective actions.
• Manage configuration, upgrades and patching of the big data platform to keep services up to date.
• Collaborate with the Authority's technical teams for smooth deployment and adoption of new solutions.
• Maintain clear documentation of platform configuration, troubleshooting steps and incident resolutions.
• Monitor and address platform security vulnerabilities and implement patching strategies.
• Develop automation to streamline administrative tasks and maintain operational consistency.
• Ensure smooth operations and service levels of IT solutions.
• Support production issues as needed.
