Job summary

The Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) seeks an Assistant Director to lead the Government Data Division (GDD) within Smart Nation Group - Digital Government. You will shape whole-of-government data policies, governance, and capability development, guiding officers and partnering with agencies to advance data as a national asset.

Qualifications

Experience in policy and strategy, data governance, and capability building.
Experience leading a team at Assistant Director level.
Public service experience or alignment with values would be useful.
Qualifications in public policy, business, law, CS, data analytics or engineering.

Responsibilities

Develop capabilities of the public sector data workforce through training and learning interventions.
Deepen cross‑agency learning and capability uplift via communities of practice.
Work with agencies to address governance challenges and co-develop learnings for government use.
Partner agencies to extract good data governance practices for WOG learning.
Shape career pathways through competency frameworks and structured progression routes.
