Data Governance Consultant

• Establish clear rules and accountability for who owns, manages, and uses data, ensuring information is well‑organized, protected, and handled responsibly.
• Define and document data ownership across various systems and domains (e.g., finance, operations, front office business units, treasury & other business functions), ensuring each has an accountable owner and steward.
• Develop and maintain data governance policies and standards covering how data is collected, stored, shared, and secured (data lifecycle management).
• Help improve data quality by setting up checks, dashboards, and remediation processes.
• Use governance tools such as Microsoft Purview or Collibra to map data lineage and track where data comes from.
• Work closely with business and IT teams to embed governance practices into day‑to‑day operations.
• Support training and awareness programs so employees understand how to manage and protect data properly.
