Job summary

ARGYLL SCOTT CONSULTING PTE. LTD. is seeking a Data Engineer on a 12-month contract (extendable/convertible) to design, develop and support secure, scalable backend applications using .NET Core, C#, and AWS cloud services.

You will work across product, architecture, QA, DevOps/SRE and vendor teams to deliver reliable cloud-based solutions. The role emphasizes API-driven development, event-driven integrations and strong testing, security and documentation practices, with exposure to CI/CD and IaC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related discipline.
• 6-8 years of software development covering design, development, testing, release and production support.
• Hands-on experience with .NET Core / .NET 6+, C#, ASP.NET Core Web APIs and EF Core.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain backend applications using .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET Core Web APIs, Entity Framework Core and related Microsoft technologies.
• Develop secure REST APIs, microservices and reusable integration components, incorporating authentication, authorization and error handling.
• Build event-driven solutions using AWS SNS, SQS, Lambda and EventBridge with proper retries and tracing.
• Support AWS-hosted workloads across API Gateway, Lambda, EKS/ECS, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, IAM and CloudWatch.
• Apply microservices, distributed systems, monitoring and observability practices for reliability.
• Investigate and resolve issues across application code, APIs, databases, messaging services, cloud infrastructure and deployment environments.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation including API contracts and operation notes.
• Support CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, releases and infrastructure-as-code activities using Git-based tools.
