Job summary

International SOS is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop and support secure, scalable backend applications using .NET Core, C#, the Microsoft technology stack and AWS cloud services. The role focuses on building reliable APIs, microservices and event-driven integrations using AWS services such as SNS, SQS, Lambda, EventBridge, API Gateway and managed data services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (or similar).
• 6-8 years of software development experience across backend design, development, testing, release and production support.
• Hands-on AWS development experience with SNS, SQS, Lambda, EventBridge, API Gateway and cloud services (RDS, DynamoDB, S3).
• Strong knowledge of .NET Core / .NET 6+, C#, ASP.NET Core Web APIs and EF Core.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture and secure API design.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD and infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Excellent collaboration, documentation and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support secure, scalable backend apps using .NET Core and AWS.
• Build REST APIs, microservices and event-driven integrations with AWS services.
• Apply asynchronous messaging, retries, dead-letter queues and idempotency patterns.
• Create technical specs, API contracts, schemas and operational docs.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, QA, DevOps/SRE and vendors to deliver solutions.
• Implement observability, logging, testing and CI/CD pipelines.
