Job summary

GovTech is leading Singapore’s Smart Nation initiatives, building AI-enabled data engineering capabilities and data platforms for public good. The Data Practice collaborates across agencies to deploy pilots, establish governance, and scale innovative data solutions for a Trusted Data Nation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related field with 5–8 years of professional experience.
• Core Data Engineering skills including system design, data structures, data modelling, data access and storage; cloud technologies.
• Experience in architecting data and IT systems; strong SQL and analytics data warehouses; Python engineering skills; familiarity with LLM APIs or AI-assisted workflows.
• Curiosity, collaboration, and ability to work in a fast-moving Agile environment; strong communication across diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Experiment with AI possibilities to enhance data engineering processes and translate them into government capabilities.
• Collaborate with agencies to design pilots, gather feedback, and provide hands-on technical support.
• Architect and develop scalable, government-wide data solutions and establish adoption pathways.
• Work with cross-functional teams of data engineers, data scientists, software engineers, and product managers.
• Senior hires: shape team direction, identify high-impact problems, and mentor team members.
