Job summary

The Ballet School (BP) PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced ballet teacher to prepare and teach stimulating classes in classical ballet for students from toddler to adult.

You will lead and mentor junior instructors, plan lessons and syllabi, conduct teachers’ meetings, demonstrate techniques, and help students prepare for yearly exams while maintaining a professional image and strong communication with families.

Qualifications

• RAD Intermediate Certificate or Dance Diploma required.
• Dance Degree qualifications are an advantage.
• Bachelor's Degree in any field acceptable.
• CBTS (RAD) certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach stimulating classes in classical ballet for all ages.
• Lead and direct junior instructors to develop teaching and management skills.
• Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and syllabi.
• Conduct teachers’ meetings to update syllabus changes.
• Explain and demonstrate proper techniques.
• Connect with students and maintain attention; convey information clearly.
• Identify students’ needs and develop their dance potential.
• Prepare students for yearly dance exams.
• Attend professional development to keep teaching methods current.
• Present a professional image in dressing and personality.
• Attend open houses yearly and participate in events.
• Create choreography for annual student production, select music and coordinate costumes.
• Set goals, receive feedback, and try new strategies to improve student achievement.

Job description

• Prepare and teach stimulating classes in classical ballet to students aged –Toddler to Adult and prepare students for a professional career in dance
• Have the capability to lead, groom, value-add and direct junior dance instructors to attain quality teaching and management skills like themselves
• Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and syllabi
• Conduct teachers’ meeting to update any changes of the syllabus work
• Explain and demonstrate proper techniques
• Ability to connect and capture students’ attention, deliver information clearly, concisely and effectively
• Identify students’ needs and assist to develop each child’s dance potential.
• Preparing students for yearly dance exams
• Attend professional development programmes to keep one’s teaching methods and curriculum current.
• Be independent, self-driven and possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Present a professional image in dressing and personality at all times.
• Conduct open house yearly.
• Participate in any The Ballet School’s events such as dance workshop and master classes.
• Create choreography for annual student production, select accompanying music and coordinating costume
• Work reflectively to set goals, receive constructive feedback and try new strategies to improve student achievement
• Min RAD Intermediate Certificate of Achievement or Dance Diploma, or performing experience with a professional dance company
• Possess CBTS (RAD), Dance Degree qualifications and performing experience will be an advantage.
• Minimum 1 year(s) of teaching experience in RAD syllabus will be an advantage.
• Candidate must possess at least a Dance Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in any field
