Job summary

CRESTAR EDUCATION GROUP PTE. LTD. is seeking a passionate dance teacher to join on a full-time basis, teaching ballet and at least one of contemporary, jazz, or lyrical.

This role combines regular classes with competition training under the Dance Manager, with classes on weekday evenings and weekends. The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma/ Degree in Dance and be able to teach ballet, plus at least 1 year of teaching experience with children, teens, and adults.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Dance, Ballet, or equivalent professional dance training.
• Able to teach ballet (required), plus at least one of contemporary, jazz, or lyrical.
• Minimum 1 year of proven experience in teaching dance to children, teens, as well as adults at beginner to advanced levels.
• Strong knowledge of classical ballet techniques, terminology, and performance practices.
• Ability to choreograph and prepare students for examinations, performances, and competitions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage and motivate students.
• Willingness to work weekday evenings, weekends, and during school holiday programmes as required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver structured lessons in ballet and assigned genres at direct centres and institutional partners, in line with school standards and plans set by HQ.
• Prepare students for graded examinations and school showcases.
• Maintain class discipline, track student progress, and keep accurate class records.
• Engage parents through showcases, parent-teacher meetings, and regular communications.
• Choreograph original competition and performance routines across assigned genres, including selection of music, costumes, and staging concepts.
• Plan and lead competition team training: technique classes, conditioning sessions, and intensive rehearsals ahead of major events.
• Develop individualized training plans for competition students, monitoring technical progress, artistry, and performance readiness.
• Conduct auditions and recommend selection of students for competition teams and featured roles.
• Manage competition logistics: registration, entry paperwork, music submissions, schedules, and communications with organisers and parents.
• Accompany and supervise students at competitions and external performances, ensuring their safety, discipline, and well-being.
• Instil proper warm-up, injury-prevention, and recovery practices; foster confidence, sportsmanship, and a positive team culture.
• Support or lead concerts, recitals, showcases, and competitions.
• Choreograph and prepare students for performances, including music selection, rehearsal coordination, and costume/prop planning.
• Participate in or lead special projects such as holiday camps and exchange programmes.
• Support projects to enhance the programme and curriculum, improving the student learning experience and school enrolment.

JOBSUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic dance teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. The role requires teaching ballet and at least one of the following genres: contemporary, jazz, or lyrical. This is a teaching-first role that combines regular classes and competition training with programme management responsibilities, under the guidance of the Dance Manager. Classes are conducted on weekday evenings and weekends.

JOB ROLE

1. Teaching & Student Development

A) Regular Dance Classes

• Plan and deliver structured lessons in ballet and assigned genres (contemporary, jazz or lyrical) at direct centres and institutional partners, in line with school standards and plans set by HQ.
• Prepare students for graded examinations and school showcases.
• Maintain class discipline, track student progress, and keep accurate class records.

B) Artistic & Competition Training (Optional)

• Choreograph original competition and performance routines across assigned genres, including selection of music, costumes, and staging concepts.
• Plan and lead competition team training: technique classes, conditioning sessions, and intensive rehearsals ahead of major events.
• Clean and refine routines, formations, and transitions to competition standard, including routines set by guest choreographers.
• Develop individualised training plans for competition students, monitoring technical progress, artistry, and performance readiness.
• Conduct auditions and recommend selection of students for competition teams and featured roles.
• Manage competition logistics: registration, entry paperwork, music submissions, schedules, and communications with organisers and parents.
• Accompany and supervise students at competitions and external performances, ensuring their safety, discipline, and well-being.
• Instil proper warm-up, injury-prevention, and recovery practices; foster confidence, sportsmanship, and a positive team culture.

2. Events & Projects

• Support orlead concerts, recitals, showcases, and competitions.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or degree in Dance, Ballet, or equivalent professional dance training (e.g., Royal Academy of Dance, CSTD, or other recognised syllabus).
• Able to teach ballet (required), plus at least one of the following genres: contemporary, jazz, or lyrical.
• Minimum 1year of proven experience in teaching dance to children, teens, as well as adults at beginner to advanced levels.
• Strong knowledge of classical ballet techniques, terminology, and performance practices.
• Ability to choreograph and prepare students for examinations, performances, and competitions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage and motivate students.
• Passionate about dance education and committed to nurturing students' artistic and personal growth.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers, operations, admin, and management staff.
• Physically fit to demonstrate dance movements and correct students' techniques safely.
• Willingnessto work weekday evenings, weekends, and during school holiday programmes as required.
• Certificate in Dance Teaching (Ballet) is an advantage.
