Job summary

Google Cloud is seeking a Customer Engineer specialized in SAP to help customers adopt SAP workloads on Google Cloud Platform. You will lead technical discussions, demonstrate SAP capabilities, and collaborate with sales teams to turn opportunities into successful implementations.

You will engage with customers to map SAP workloads to Google Cloud, address blockers, and contribute to GTM efforts while staying current with cloud trends and SAP offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience as a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or a customer-facing role working in a professional services or systems engineering team.
• Experience with SAP technologies, architecture, and infrastructure needs.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design SAP workloads on Google Cloud (RISE/PCE) with infrastructure, networking, security and storage considerations.
• Own the technical relationship with customers, managing product/solution briefings and POC work.
• Coordinate with product management and engineering to address customer needs and industry trends in SAP on Google Cloud.
• Explain SAP on Google Cloud platform to customers and partners, identifying opportunities and mitigating blockers.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience as a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or a customer-facing role working in a professional services or systems engineering team.

• Ability to communicate in English fluently to support client relationship management.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or other technical field.
• Experience in aspects of cloud computing across enterprise technology and open source, including compute, storage, data analytics, and machine learning.
• Experience in, and understanding of, data and information management as it relates to big data trends and issues within businesses.
• Understanding of SAP cloud offerings such as RISE/PCE, SAP BTP and SAP SaaS products.
• Ability to learn quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space.

As a Customer Engineer specialized in SAP, you'll contribute experience and thought leadership to support the Google Cloud sales teams, and drive direction, mission, and strategy around SAP solutions. You'll meet with customers to facilitate business transformation, map success patterns, and publish assets to scale your knowledge and support further customer successes. In this role, you'll identify and parse industry trends that focus on SAP to recommend, plan for, and address core market opportunities with new solutions and use cases for positioning to customers. Finally, you will enable the sales team and counsel partners on the best way to position SAP on Google Cloud solutions, explain technical features, and problem-solve potential roadblocks on Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design SAP HANA on cloud solutions (RISE, PCE) with infrastructure, networking, security and storage best practices.
• Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, identify key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
• Own the technical relationship with Google’s customers, managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of any additional technical resources, including product management, engineering, and more.
• Recommend, demonstrate, and prototype SAP on Google Cloud Platform solutions in customer environments, using best practices for SAP on Google Cloud.
• Assist the SAP Go-to-Market (GTM) team with regional delivery of field-enablement for SAP on Google Cloud Platform solutions.
