Job summary

SUMITOMO MITSUI BANKING CORPORATION SINGAPORE BRANCH is seeking a capable professional to support the Head of Credit Department Asia Pacific Division in strategic planning and credit risk management. The role involves coordinating with Head Office, regulators, and business units across Asia Pacific and India, and improving risk reporting.

You will prepare materials for committees, monitor portfolio quality, and ensure compliance with policies while maintaining strong English and Japanese

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
• Prefer finance/accounting background.
• Proven experience in finance or banking essential.
• 2-3 years in credit risk management.
• Experience with regulators or analytical tasks preferable.
• Fluency in English and Japanese essential.
• Proficient PC skills: PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team-oriented and able to collaborate.

Responsibilities

• Produce reports on credit portfolio and metrics relevant to credit risk management.
• Routinely report credit documentation to senior management and relevant departments.
• Prepare materials for management committees, regulatory examinations and audits.
• Undertake related tasks and projects as assigned by management.
• Maintain liaison with Credit Officers, Front Office and Head Office to ensure understanding of credit standards.
• Collaborate with Credit Analysis and other departments to improve credit processes.
