Job summary

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation APAC信用部門 seeks an experienced credit risk professional to review and assess credit applications, and to make independent, neutral decisions on deals, waivers, and annual reviews. You will monitor deteriorating credits and perform portfolio analysis across corporate groups and industries, coordinating with business units to ensure policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or economics.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in credit analysis / credit approval.
• Knowledge of financial modeling, LBO, PF lending, Structured Finance will be an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills with strong command of English (both written and spoken).
• Solution oriented and ability to prepare clear and concise credit recommendations.
• Strong organization skills with multi-tasking ability.
• A team player and able to work under high volume in peak period.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess various types of credit applications submitted by business units as second line of defense.
• Make independent and neutral credit decisions including evaluation, challenge, and approval for front office deals, waivers, annual reviews, credit monitoring, and grading.
• Establish action plans for credits likely to deteriorate to minimize credit costs.
• Conduct credit portfolio analysis by corporate groups, industry risks, and other factors.
• Monitor and proactively control credit exposures under large corporates and specific sectors.
• Discuss direction of potential deals with business units ensuring compliance with risk policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with department and business units to improve credit risk management.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
