Job summary

BBVA’s Corporate Lending Asia team in Singapore seeks a corporate banking professional to support origination, structuring and execution of loan transactions across Asia-Pacific. You will work with senior originators and internal stakeholders to manage the full life cycle of live deals from borrower analysis to documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in corporate loan origination and execution, debt structuring, or loan syndication within corporate or investment banking.
  • Process-driven, proactive with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multi-track deals under tight deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of Southeast Asia and India syndicated loan markets with evidence of execution track record.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Deal Execution: Support deal execution across the full transaction lifecycle, managing workflows from initial borrower analysis and pitch preparation to term sheet development, loan structuring and documentation.
  • Market Intelligence & Pitching: Conduct credit, market and industry analysis to support pricing and structuring decisions; draft pitch materials and maintain precedent transaction databases for Southeast Asia and India loan markets.
  • Client Solutions: Analyze borrower requirements and translate them into actionable lending solutions that balance client needs with the bank’s credit appetite.
  • Structuring & Documentation: Prepare and review term sheets, legal documentation, and committee proposals for business and credit approval tracks.
  • Syndication Support: Draft syndication materials and support the deal team across active arranger and bookrunner mandates.
  • Regional Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary person across the regional platform—collaborating with Coverage, Risk, Loan Syndicate, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Operations, and external legal counsel to secure relevant approvals.
  • Closing Management & Governance: Navigate internal systems to execute loan booking processes and administrative workflows. Ensure full compliance with internal policies, audit standards, filing requirements, and documentation procedures.
  • Mentorship & Pipeline Reporting: Prepare management presentations and pipeline activity reports, draft post-closing case studies, and mentor junior team members to foster execution capabilities.

Job description

BBVA’s Corporate Lending Asia team is seeking a motivated corporate banking professional to support the origination, structuring, and execution of corporate loan transactions across the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Singapore and embedded within a dynamic regional platform, this role is embedded within the regional platform and plays an integral part in delivering live deals throughout the full transaction lifecycle.

Working alongside senior originators, key internal stakeholders, and external clients, the successful candidate will navigate internal systems and multi-stakeholder approval tracks to ensure seamless deal closings.

Primary market coverage includes South East Asia and India, spanning syndicated loans, acquisition financings, sustainable finance, and bespoke credit solutions.

  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in corporate loan origination and execution, debt structuring, or loan syndication within corporate or investment banking.
  • Process-Driven & Proactive: Self-starter with strong initiative, exceptional organizational skills, and a process-driven mindset to execute transactions seamlessly and keep multi-track deal flows moving efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Client & Commercial Acumen: Client-centric thinker adept at bridging the gap between borrower requirements and Corporate Lending solutions, balancing client needs against the bank’s appetite and limitations.
  • Stakeholder Navigation & Attitude: Proven ability to navigate multiple stakeholders across internal systems within a regional platform, paired with a positive, adaptable attitude and a continuous willingness to learn.
  • Market Knowledge & Execution Track Record: Solid understanding of Southeast Asia and India syndicated loan markets, industry best practices, and a demonstrated track record in corporate loan origination, debt structuring, and execution.
  • Technical Skills: Strong credit analysis skills, financial modeling, and debt capacity assessment capabilities, with proficiency with Bloomberg, Refinitiv (LoanConnector), and emerging bank technologies.
Languages
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Proficiency in Chinese or a Southeast Asian / South Asian language is a plus
