We are looking, The Construction / Ship Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting daily project activities, including manpower, materials, equipment, work schedules, and communication between the company, clients, shipyard representatives, and project teams.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily construction, marine, ship repair, welding, piping, fitting, and related project activities.
- Assist in planning and monitoring project schedules, work progress, and completion deadlines.
- Coordinate manpower deployment, attendance, site access, and work allocation.
- Liaise with clients, shipyard representatives, project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Coordinate the availability of materials, tools, equipment, and other resources required for project execution.
- Monitor daily work progress and report delays, manpower shortages, material issues, and other operational concerns.
- Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
- Ensure work activities are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Coordinate work permits, site access, inspections, and other project requirements.
- Support the implementation of workplace safety and health requirements, risk assessments, safe work procedures, and toolbox meetings.
- Follow up on quality issues, defects, rectification works, and outstanding items.
- Maintain proper project records, documentation, and correspondence.
- Perform other project coordination duties assigned by the Project Manager, Operations Manager, or Director.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in construction, marine, shipyard, engineering, welding, piping, or project coordination.
- Experience in coordinating manpower, site activities, project schedules, and resources.
- Basic knowledge of construction, ship repair, welding, piping, and fitting works.
- Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, and work requirements.
- Knowledge of workplace safety, risk assessments, and safe work procedures.
- Good communication, coordination, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Responsible for submitting bills and processing claims.
- Responsible for timely submission of invoices, bills, and expense claims.
- Responsible for bill submission, claim processing, and maintaining supporting documents.
