Job summary

jda wms pte. ltd. is seeking a Construction Manager to own a government hospital project, driving mechanical installation works from planning through completion in a lab and clean room environment.

You will deliver milestones, manage schedules and safety plans, coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors, and mentor site staff to close skill gaps and ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma with substantial experience in mechanical/electrical installation and project management.
• 10+ years in industry with 5+ years in a managerial or project manager role.
• Experience on contracts valued between $10-100 million, with lab/clean room or hospital project exposure.
• Familiar with ISO 9000/45001/14001; Building Construction Safety Supervisor certification preferred.

Job description

We are looking for a Construction Manager to take ownership of a government hospital project, driving mechanical installation works from planning through completion in a lab and clean room environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver project milestones on schedule, applying a plan-do-check-action (PDCA) approach to quality, safety, and environmental targets
• Draw up the master construction schedule, quality and safety plans, risk assessments, and budget, aligned to contract requirements
• Introduce new or improved installation methods to control cost and boost efficiency
• Manage day-to-day coordination with suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating variations and resolving site issues
• Establish clear communication channels across the site team and with the customer
• Mentor site staff, addressing skill gaps through ongoing training and guidance

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Diploma with at least 10 years of relevant industry experience
• At least 15 years' overall experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial or project manager capacity
• 8-10 years specifically in mechanical/electrical installation and project management, on contracts valued between $10-100 million
• Proven track record in lab, clean room, chiller, data centre, or hospital projects (LTA/condo experience not applicable)
• Familiar with ISO 9000/45001/14001 standards and hold a Building Construction Safety Supervisor certification
• Preferred: contractor-side background with strong cross-disciplinary coordination skills
