Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Analyst to join our team. This role is pivotal in defining, managing, and implementing change across the organization, ensuring business needs are clearly understood and translated into optimal solutions. For smaller initiatives, the Business Analyst will also take on project management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering

  • Elicit requirements from stakeholders using effective methods, standards, and tools.
  • Analyse and validate requirements with a structured and disciplined approach.
  • Conduct impact assessments to map current (“as-is”) and future (“to-be”) processes, systems, and structures.
  • Perform data analysis to cleanse, standardize, and ensure data consistency and quality.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring formal sign-off of requirement documentation.
  • Collaborate with service providers to align on requirements and solution limitations.
  • Mentor and coach junior business analysts.

Solution Assessment & Validation

  • Work closely with the Architecture team to ensure solutions are robust and optimal.
  • Facilitate workshops with internal and external stakeholders to identify solution options and support solution design documentation.
  • Support functional and integration testing activities.

Change Management & Implementation Support

  • Contribute to Change Management initiatives by providing clear, accurate information for effective communication.
  • Provide project support during implementation, including troubleshooting, query resolution, liaising with service providers, and reporting.
  • Support project management processes such as risk, issue, compliance, and change management.
  • Lead smaller projects, taking on both Business Analyst and Project Manager responsibilities.
Candidate Attributes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies and frameworks.
  • Background in asset management or wealth management is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Asian local markets and regulatory practices.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work in ambiguous situations.
  • Skilled in BA techniques such as flowcharting, use cases, requirements capture, stakeholder analysis, and solution prototyping.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
Domain Expertise
  • Knowledge of portfolio management, performance & attribution, risk modeling, compliance, liquidity management, and trade lifecycle monitoring.
  • Experience across major asset classes and related analytics.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data models (portfolio structures, securities reference data, market data, transactions, pricing, finance, and product data).
  • Awareness of Middle Office and Back Office outsourcing models.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (relevant certification preferred).
  • 7–10 years of Financial Services Business Analyst experience (asset management preferred).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
