Job summary

AIG ASIA PACIFIC INSURANCE PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Complex Claims Adjuster, A&H to handle high-value claims with sound judgment and empathy. You will adjudicate A&H claims, assess coverage, quantum and liability, while maintaining the company’s service standards and regulatory obligations.

You will coordinate with vendors, manage litigation, and communicate with internal stakeholders. The role emphasizes continuous improvement through audits and adherence to global best practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in adjudicating A&H claims.
• Familiar with FIDREC/Singapore Mediation Centre.
• Holds BCP, PGI and HI.
• Strong policy language skills enabling accurate interpretation.
• Ability to audit and drive continuous claim handling improvement.

• Broader internal/external stakeholder communication as required.
• Strive for continuous improvement on claim file handling through QA reviews.
• Contribute to best practice procedures for A&H intermediate to high value claims.
• Demonstrate high standard of technical claims competence in complex scenarios.
• Manage Third Party Administrators to ensure adherence to guidelines and deliverables.
• Any other projects/tasks assigned from time to time.

How you will create an impact

Functional Responsibilities

• Managing key claims handling enquiry; coverage determination, quantum analysis and legal liability assessment, where appropriate within authority limits and providing a consistently strong standard of customer service.
• Ensuring effective vendor and litigation management on Complex claims within a personal allocation
• Broader internal / external stakeholder communication where required
• Strive for continuous improvement on claim file handling with feedback and support through the Quality Assurance Review processes
• Contribute to maintenance of best practice procedures for A&H intermediate to high value Complex claims, consistent with global best practice
• Demonstrate a high standard of technical claims competence. Demonstrate a strong standard of competence in handling intermediate to advanced complex claims in A&H.
• Manage Third Party Administrators to ensure that they adhere to the claims handling guidelines and meet the agreed deliverables. This would include conducting audits and checks. Provide technical advice to Shared Services.
• Any other projects/tasks which may be assigned to you from time to time.

Accountabilities

• Timely, accurate and customer focused claim resolution, minimizing indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor and legal expense
• Effective communication of key advanced Complex claims and A&H portfolio messages to internal stakeholders.
• Financial control through consistent reserve and other financial transaction discipline
• Accurate and consistent policy interpretation

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in adjudicating A&H claims and fronting mediation in FIDREC/Singapore Mediation Centre.
• Holds BCP, PGI and HI
• Intermediate specialist knowledge in A&H technical claims topics
• Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation
• A basic knowledge oflegal / regulatory and litigation / proceduralrequirements for their line of business
• Experience in effectively following up onrecommendations from technical claims audits and continuous claim handling improvement
• Good communication skills, both written & verbal
• Time management - ability to manage & prioritize workload and diary management
• Ability to contribute effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to work with claims stakeholders to effectively direct claims strategy.
