Job summary

HI-TECH MARINE & OFFSHORE PTE LTD is seeking a senior commercial professional to oversee cost estimation, contracting and schedule coordination for shipbuilding, upgrading and conversion projects. The role requires close liaison with ship owners, vendors and internal teams to ensure competitive commercial outcomes and project success.

• Liaison with ship owners, vendors and internal departments on project requirements and costs.
• Estimation and projection of shipbuilding, upgrading, repair and conversion costs.
• Negotiate and coordinate with all parties on project schedules.
• Assist to manage and lead the commercial team including development, training and succession planning.
• Resolve contractual and commercial problems and report to management regularly.
• Manage internal relationships with operations, commercial, sales and marketing to support projects and sales activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Liaison with ship owners, vendors as well as departments on project requirements and costs.
• Estimation and Projection of Shipbuilding, Upgrading, Repair and Conversion Cost
• Negotiate and coordinate with all parties on project schedule
• Assist to manage and lead commercial team including development, training, performance management and succession planning
• Resolving contractual and commercial problems and to report to the management regularly
• Manage internal relationships with operations, commercial, Sales and Marketing to ensure optimal performance and to provide commercial requirements for projects and sales activities.
• Interpreting financial, operational, commercial or customer insights to ensure a commercial/billing issue is fully understood and that hard hitting action are taken and constantly reviewed
• Developing, reviewing and optimizing commercial strategies against key competitors
• Work with the Sales team to target specific ‘high value’ customers and ensuring the business is maximizing revenue
• Extensive experience in the required field
• Proven ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
• Proven ability to prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines.
