Job summary

MINDEF Defence Safety Division seeks a senior safety leader to oversee safety for Defence Cyber Command, ensuring a safe and compliant environment across its operations. You will advise Commanders on safety, perform inspections and audits, conduct safety education, and apply lessons from incidents to prevent recurrence while reporting to senior management.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice to Commanders on safety-related matters, including routine monitoring, inspections, audits, and safety education to all entities within the Command; ensure lessons learned from incidents are applied to determine causal factors and preventive measures.
• Report on incidents, near misses, hazard reports, and safe/unsafe practices; evaluate to identify causal factors and implement preventive measures.
• Handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and report confidently to senior management.

What the role is:

You are responsible for all safety-related matters for Defence Cyber Command, ensuring a safe and compliant environment.

What you will be working on:

• Provide advice to Commanders on safety-related matters, including routine monitoring, inspections, audits, and safety education to all entities within the Command- Ensure prompt and effective dissemination and application of lessons learnt from incidents to determine causal factors and recommend appropriate preventive measures
• Report on incidents, near misses, hazard reports, and safe and unsafe practices, and evaluate these incidents to identify causal factors and recommend and implement appropriate preventive measures
• Challenge(s)- Multi-tasking and working effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Being comfortable to report confidently to senior management

What we are looking for:

• Education in Safety related fields, with relevant professional certifications such as Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Certification or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• At least 10 years of relevant work experience in the workplace safety
• Strong leadership and decision-making ability
