Job summary

Pasona Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Cloud Engineer (Backend Development) to design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and backend services for our telematics data platform.

You’ll work across infrastructure, data pipelines, and integration APIs in a hands-on role with senior engineers. This collaborative position emphasizes ownership, production readiness, and secure, scalable solutions. The role follows a hybrid schedule (2 days work from home) in the Central area, 9 am to 6 pm,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/related field.
• 2–3 years in Cloud Eng, Backend or Data/Platform engineering.
• At least 2 years Python experience.
• 1–2 years building AWS services in production.
• Strong SQL skills and database design knowledge.
• Experience with Git/GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure for the telematics analytics platform using IaC.
• Develop and optimize Python services, SQL schemas, and data workflows.
• Implement security, monitoring, and cost controls following team standards.
• Build and maintain APIs/SDKs for secure client integration with our platform.
• Collaborate with data, product and business teams to develop cloud solutions.

• Hybrid work mode (2 days work from home)

The Cloud Engineer (Backend Development) will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and backend services, contributing to architecture decisions with senior engineers. This is a hands‑on cloud/backend role supporting our telematics data platform — you’ll work across infrastructure, data pipelines, and integration APIs.

We are looking for someone who is proactive and collaborative, with strong ownership and a practical approach to solving production problems.

Job Responsibilities

• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure for our telematics analytics platform using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles


• Develop and optimize Python services, SQL schemas, and data workflows


• Implement security, monitoring, and cost controls following team standards


• Build & maintain APIs/SDKs that enable secure client integration with our platform


• Collaborate with data, product and business teams to develop innovative cloud solutions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or related field


• 2–3 years of professional experience in Cloud Engineering, Backend Development, or Data/Platform engineering.


• Minimally 2 years of experience in Python


• Minimally 1-2 years of hands‑on experience building and maintaining AWS services in production


• Strong understanding of database schema design and SQL querying


• Experience with Git/GitLab and CI/CD pipelines


• Knowledge of AWS Cloud principles and the well-architected framework.

Technical Skills

• AWS: Lambda, RDS, S3, Step Functions, API Gateway, CloudFormation, CloudFront, VPC, CloudWatch, SNS/Eventbridge


• Additional Skills: AWS Cloud Security, GitLab, Git

Preferred

• AWS certifications are a plus


• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into applications is a plus


• Experience building dashboards, internal tools, or web-based data visualization interfaces is a plus


• Knowledge of Machine Learning and Data Analytics concepts is a plus
