Job summary

Illumina Singapore Pte Ltd. is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician to join our Singapore-based clinical genomics laboratory.

This hands-on role supports delivering high-quality genomic testing to patients across the region. In this position you will perform DNA extraction, quantification, library preparation, and sequencing on the NovaSeq X Plus platform, using automated workflows and manual bench-top assays, while adhering to ISO 15189 standards and maintaining a safe, compliant lab

Qualifications

• Molecular biology laboratory experience required.
• Working knowledge of molecular biology techniques and next-generation sequencing principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a regulated laboratory environment.
• Relevant practical experience in a molecular biology, clinical, diagnostic or similarly regulated laboratory environment, with demonstrated ability to perform laboratory activities accurately and with limited supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to recognize routine process or equipment issues, take appropriate action within established procedures, and escalate effectively when required.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform routine laboratory testing to define quality standards and within established turnaround times.
• Handle, process, and store clinical samples in accordance with approved SOPs, ensuring accurate labeling and traceability.
• Accurately record laboratory activities, results and observations in laboratory records, logs and electronic systems; identify deviations, errors or nonconformities and escalate as needed.
• Monitor laboratory consumables and reagents, maintaining adequate stock levels and re-ordering as necessary.
• Operate assigned laboratory instruments, perform routine checks and maintenance, resolve routine issues, escalate complex issues as required.
• Perform general laboratory housekeeping to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant working environment.
• Adhere to Health & Safety requirements, risk assessments, and biosafety procedures.
• Apply approved Work Instructions, SOPs and Quality Management System requirements in day-to-day activities with sound judgement.
• Participate in training, competency assessments and audits, and support the training of colleagues.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve laboratory goals with limited supervision.
