Job summary

National University Hospital (Singapore) Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a qualified professional to perform routine clinical molecular diagnostic testing and support the daily operations of a CAP-accredited laboratory.

The role includes handling nucleic acid extraction, PCR, sequencing workflows, LIS operations, record-keeping, QA participation, and assistance with validation and implementation of new assays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related fields.
• Preferably 1–2 years in a clinical lab setting.
• Experience in molecular diagnostic testing preferred.
• Familiarity with PCR, real-time PCR, Sanger sequencing, and NGS workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine molecular diagnostic testing and related laboratory activities to support patient care.
• Operate the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for test registration, result entry, verification and enquiry.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in compliance with accreditation requirements.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, proficiency testing and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist in validation, implementation and staff training for new reagents, equipment and assays.
