Qualifications

• Previous experience in restaurant cleaning, dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, housekeeping or F&B support is preferred.
• Experience in an Indian or vegetarian restaurant or catering environment is an advantage.
• Good understanding of personal hygiene and cleanliness practices.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean dishes, plates, utensils, and other dining equipment.
• Clean kitchen floors, surfaces, sinks, and other facilities; assist with cleaning after food preparation.
• Maintain cleanliness in dining areas and restaurant premises throughout operating hours.
• Follow hygiene and food safety procedures; use chemicals safely and store them properly.
• Collect and dispose of waste; assist in recycling where applicable.
• Inform supervisor when cleaning materials are running low; help store restaurant supplies.
• Assist kitchen and restaurant staff during busy periods and support takeaway/catering prep.

Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible, hardworking and hygiene-conscious Cleaning & Kitchen Support Crew to support our daily restaurant and kitchen operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for washing vessels, plates, cooking utensils and kitchen equipment, as well as maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen, dining area and other restaurant areas.

The candidate must be physically fit, responsible and willing to perform cleaning and kitchen support duties in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

Vessel & Dish Washing

• Wash and clean plates, bowls, cups, glasses, spoons, forks, serving utensils and other dining equipment.
• Wash cooking vessels, pots, pans, trays and kitchen utensils.
• Clean kitchen equipment and food preparation tools as instructed.
• Ensure all washed items are properly cleaned, rinsed, sanitised and stored.
• Maintain sufficient clean vessels, utensils and service equipment during restaurant operating hours.
• Handle food waste and dispose of waste appropriately.

Kitchen Cleaning

• Clean and maintain kitchen floors, walls, work surfaces and food preparation areas.
• Clean sinks, washing areas and other kitchen facilities.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and free from unnecessary clutter.
• Assist kitchen staff with cleaning after food preparation and cooking.
• Clean cooking areas, equipment and surrounding surfaces according to the restaurant's cleaning procedures.
• Carry out regular cleaning during and after operating hours.

Restaurant Cleaning

• Clean dining tables, chairs and other customer areas.
• Sweep and mop restaurant floors.
• Clean entrances, service areas and other common areas.
• Keep the restaurant clean, presentable and hygienic throughout the day.
• Assist with cleaning the restaurant before opening and after closing.
• Clean and maintain toilets and other designated areas when required.

Hygiene & Food Safety

• Follow strict personal hygiene and workplace cleanliness practices.
• Maintain clean clothing/uniform and appropriate personal hygiene at all times.
• Wash hands properly and regularly, especially after handling waste and cleaning activities.
• Follow the restaurant's cleaning and sanitisation procedures.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to instructions.
• Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored safely and separately from food ingredients.
• Prevent cross-contamination between cleaning activities and food preparation areas.
• Follow applicable Singapore food hygiene and workplace safety requirements.

Waste Management

• Collect and dispose of food waste and general waste appropriately.
• Keep waste bins clean and properly covered where required.
• Ensure waste collection areas are kept clean and hygienic.
• Assist in recycling and waste segregation where applicable.

Stock & Equipment Support

• Inform the supervisor when cleaning materials, detergents, sanitising products, gloves, garbage bags or other supplies are running low.
• Maintain cleaning equipment in good condition.
• Use cleaning equipment and materials properly to minimise wastage.
• Assist with receiving and storing restaurant supplies when required.

General Restaurant Support

• Assist kitchen and restaurant staff during busy periods.
• Support preparation and packing activities for takeaway and catering orders when required.
• Assist with setting up and clearing areas for catering functions and bulk orders.
• Perform other reasonable cleaning and restaurant support duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Requirements

• Previous experience in restaurant cleaning, dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, housekeeping or F&B support is preferred.
• Experience in an Indian restaurant, vegetarian restaurant or catering environment is an advantage.
• Good understanding of personal hygiene and cleanliness practices.
• Willing to perform vessel washing, dishwashing, kitchen cleaning and restaurant cleaning duties.
• Physically fit and able to stand, walk, bend and perform cleaning activities for extended periods.
• Able to handle wet work and cleaning activities.
• Responsible, punctual, reliable and hardworking.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to follow instructions and established cleaning procedures.
• Able to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
